Hi! I am Gail Harris and I am thrilled to be bringing quality swim instruction to the The Woodlands area.
As the founder and owner of The Pod Aquatic Center I would like to welcome you to our unique swimming facility located near The Woodlands, Texas. This facility has been a long time dream of mine, allowing me to provide a safe, friendly environment for children and adults to learn and share in developing their love of swimming.
Having taught swimming for over 30 years, I have developed and expanded my knowledge of swim instruction through certification from The American Red Cross, YMCA and finally through the rigorous and unique training to become certified as an Infant Aquatic Survival℠ Instructor. Infant Aquatic instructors perform over 100 hours of in-water training as well as learning the physiology, psychology and development of children between the ages of six months to six years as it applies to swimming and water survival.
At The Pod we specialize in water mastery rather than water acclimation, using a loving and playful approach that is very effective. Drowning is the leading cause of unintentional death in children 1 to 4 years of age and a large majority of homes in Texas have pools, thus I feel it is vital to teach infants and toddlers the skills they need to save themselves while developing their love of the water. With these goals in mind, I personally select and train each instructor to ensure that every child is receiving optimal instruction, nurturing a lifelong love of safe swimming.
